Kristin Kohlmeyer is a Brooklyn based, documentary Producer and Director with a passion for impact-driven visual storytelling. Aiming to ignite social consciousness, Kristin seeks out opportunities to amplify the voices of survivors and activists in her work.
In 2020, she began her career at Talos Films producing for a 3-part documentary on institutional abuse within the "Troubled" Teen Industry (slated to stream on MAX in 2024). She then went on to produce for the three-part series Demons and Saviors which tells the remarkable story of Christina Boyer– once infamously known as the “poltergeist girl,” now a woman convicted of murdering her three-year-old daughter. Thirty years into a life sentence, Christina still proclaims her innocence. The series follows a group of amateur sleuths who have become consumed by their obsession to exonerate her.
Kristin’s recent projects include producing for ABC News Studios + Hulu’s series Age of Influence, where she played a key role in developing the series. This six-part anthology examines the dark side of influencer culture through today’s biggest social media scandals. Kristin helmed an episode of the series that takes to task the exploitative nature of ‘momfluencers’, critiquing the concerning lack of protections for children and child performers online. Her latest producing project, MAX’s Fallen Idols series, which foregrounds the stories of sexual assault survivors within the music industry, will premiere across two nights on Monday, May 27 and Tuesday, May 28 from 9-11PM ET/PT on ID and streaming on Max.
Kristin plans to make her debut as a director with her documentary feature film, Sooner or Later (which is currently in development).
